Join the Waxahachie Chamber of Commerce as it hosts its 37th Annual Auction and Dinner beginning at 6 p.m. Oct. 1 at the Waxahachie Civic Center. This year’s theme is “Texas Two Step” and guests can expect to enjoy an evening of fine dining and entertainment with a Texas twist.
“We will have real cowboys, and the Texas A&M Aggie Wranglers will put on a demonstration of country western dancing,” said auction co-chair Bonney Ramsey. “The Fox Family Band will also be performing.”
The Chamber’s fundraising goal this year is $50,000.
“We have about $100,000 worth of live auctions items this year, and there are some really enticing items to bid on,” Ramsey said.
One of the featured live auction items at this year’s auction and dinner is a seven day, seven night stay at a waterfront condo on Lake Como in Galveston for the winners and five friends. In addition to the great view of the west bay and incredible sunsets, the rental is adjacent to the Galveston Country Club, where guests will enjoy full access to amenities for free. This item was donated by CareMinders Home Care.
Another enticing auction item is a suite for two at the Texas Motorplex for the entire season. The winner and a friend will be able to enjoy all the action as VIP guests in the Texas Motorplex luxury suite for all the featured events, which includes the AA Texas NHRA Fall national, the Super Chevy Show, Fun Ford Weekend and the ADRL Pr mod World Finals. The package also includes one VIP parking pass. This item was donated by Texas Motorplex.
Rodeo fans can enjoy a luxury suite package at the Mesquite Championship Rodeo compliments of Landmark Equipment, Inc. The package includes 10 tickets for a private suite on the third level of the arena, catered dinner and three VIP parking passes.
Auction bidders could beat the heat and take a snowy vacation in Angel Fire, N.M. if they bid high enough to win a week at the Nay cabin for 12-14 of their friends. This item was donated by Darrell Nay.
The Waxahachie Daily Light is participating in a media marketing package fit for a Fortune 500 company. Winners of the package will co-host the KBEC Flea Market with Ken Roberts, which includes 50 30-second advertising spots on KBEC. Also included in the media package is a full-page ad compliments of the Waxahachie Daily Light and a full-page ad in the Ellis County Living Magazine in the January/February 2012 “Home of the Year” issue. This item was donated by KBEC 1390 Class Texas Music, Waxahachie Daily Light and Ellis County Living Magazine.
Another featured item on the auction list is a flight in a Cessna 206 to the Louie Mueller Smokehouse in Taylor, Texas for the winner and three friends. One of the guests will receive “hands on” flight time by sitting in the co-pilot seat at the controls. Other guests will get complimentary beer and soda during the flight. Upon arrival at the Tyler airport, guests will be shuttled to the Mueller smokehouse for brisket, beef ribs and hand stuffed sausage. The package includes transportation to and from Mid-Way Regional Airport. This item was donated by HLH&R Metals Recycling and Silver Bullet Shuttle.
One auction bidder could win a Vizio 55-inch LCD television with HDTV and 1080p capability. This item includes a Philips Blu-Ray home theater and 6-foot HDMI cable. Lumpkins Stadium with fajitas by Campuzano’s restaurant; an outdoor, portable movie theater package; a 45-minute twilight flight in a Cessna 201 over Dallas with wine selections from Sugar Ridge Winery and shuttle transportation to and from Mid-Way Regional Airport; and dinner on the lake for 10 with Councilman Mark and Dr. Stephanie Singleton.
