LANCASTER — The city of Lancaster invites residents to attend the Main Street Madness Community Block Party from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, March 19, at Rocky Crest Park.

The event will include basketball games and fun for the entire family. In addition to basketball competitions, there will also be a car show, live entertainment by the Math Man and music adding to the fun and exciting atmosphere.

This is the city of Lancaster’s fourth community block party and city officials and staff will be in attendance. E-Waste Recycling will be on hand to collect old electronics and to recycle CRT monitors and televisions for a small fee ($10 and $30). Kids of all ages will be able to adopt a dog or cat with animal services and venture through the firehouse with the Lancaster Fire Department.

This event will highlight the city of Lancaster’s participation in the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life 2011 Campaign. Donations will be taken at the block party and all interested persons are encouraged to join the city of Lancaster team.

“The impact our community can make together is much greater than what any one individual could do alone,” a spokesman said.
