The Education Foundation for Waxahachie ISD made surprise visits May 13 to several district campuses and awarded more than $9,000 in innovative grant funds to WISD teachers and staff.

These fundraisers include the fall “Legacy of Excellence” campaign, comprising of a community-wide campaign as well as Waxahachie ISD’s own employee fund drive and the Education Foundation Classic, a golf tournament held each April.

In the fall 2011, the foundation will kick off the inaugural “Legacy Run” during homecoming weekend, which will consist of a 5K and One Mile Fun Run/Walk that will begin and end at the newly renovated Lumpkins Stadium.
