Senior citizens dance
The Waxahachie Senior Citizens Center will host its dance at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24, at the center, 219 Patrick St.
The dance is from 7-9:30 p.m., with Dave Eder and the Final Showdown Band providing the music. Everybody is invited. Snacks will be available from 8-8:30 p.m.
Admission is $4.
Special Olympics meeting
Special Olympics will meet at 3:45 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24, at the Waxahachie High School cafeteria. All parents of children with special needs are encouraged to attend.
Anyone who is interested in Special Olympics also is invited. New officers will be chosen and plans for the upcoming track meet will be discussed.

Grand opening today
Red Oak ISD will host a grand opening for its new Red Oak High School athletic complex at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24, with free hot dogs for those who attend.
The dedication ceremony will begin at 6, with softball and baseball games and tennis exhibitions to follow.
Baylor Auxiliary board to meet
The executive board of the Auxiliary to Baylor Medical Center at Waxahachie will meet at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, in the conference room of Baylor Medical Plaza, 1305 W. Jefferson. All board members are encouraged to attend.
Internet safety for teens
Teens, ages 13-18, will learn about Internet safety from 4-5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, at Nicholas P. Sims Library. Wess Winn, community services officer with the Waxahachie Police Department, will present the program to the teens.
‘Pride and Prejudice’
Jane Austen’s “Pride and Prejudice” will be presented at 7 p.m. Feb. 26-28 by the Ellis County Christian Homeschool Organization in the lyceum, located upstairs at Nicholas P. Sims Library, 515 W. Main St., Waxahachie

Crop disaster program signup
The signup period for the 2005-2007 crop disaster program ends Friday, Feb. 27.
Signup information and required forms are available at each county Farm Service Agency office. Late applications will not be accepted.

The Bristol Opry will host a country music show at 7 p.m. Feb. 28 at the old Bristol schoolhouse, located at 100 Church St. in Bristol. Admission is free; donations will be accepted. The Bristol Cemetery Association and Caring Hands of Bristol are sponsoring the event. A benefit concert for Manny Martinez will be held at The Pump, 200 E. Jefferson in downtown Waxahachie, at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28.
The musical extravaganza, consisting of several bands and soloists, is sponsored by the Waxahachie High School Student Council, with music to begin at 7. Advance tickets are $5 and will be on sale by the student council at school. Ticket price at the door is $7. The concert lineup opens with Dakota, with Baithouse Stompers to perform at 7:40 followed by Jennifer Fiedler at 8:20.
Among Angels will perform at 9, with Lynn Haven at 9:50 and concluding with Greenlightgo at 10:30. A snack bar will be available to the concert audience.
