Children’s program

Full Circle of Life Family, 118 W. 2nd St., Venus, announces its new program, Discovery Clubs. The Christian club meets from 7-8:30 p.m. each Wednesday. A church spokesman notes there will be “fun projects, games, snacks, crafts, a time to learn new skills, sing songs and find out more about God. Best of all, it’s free. All you need to do is register your child on any Wednesday night at 7 p.m. or Sunday mornings at 10 a.m.”

1989 Class Reunion

Moms in touch

Moms in Touch International is a group of mothers (grandmothers, aunts and others) who meet for one hour each week to pray for their children and the schools they attend. Anyone who is interested in learning more or being part of this praying support group can call Leigh Garrett at 817-991-0381.

Lillian 4-H Club

The Lillian 4-H Club meets the second Wednesday of each month at the United Cooperative Services community room at Interstate 35 and Bethesda Road. 4-H offers a wide variety of activities as well as community service opportunities for youth.

Meals-on-Wheels volunteers

Meals-on-Wheels and the Alvarado Senior Citizens Center are looking for volunteers to deliver meals to the homebound seniors in Alvarado. It only takes 30 minutes one day a week to help these seniors who are unable to fix meals for themselves or who are handicapped and look forward to seeing the volunteer who brings their lunch.
