Cowboy Church of Ennis schedule includes a Sunday morning service at 10:30 a.m.; Ladies bible study at 7 p.m. Monday night in the office area and a mens round table bible study and topical discussion at 7 p.m. in the main church area and when weather permits an arena barrel practice in the outdoor arena. Youth and pre-teen group meetings are held Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the main church area and team roping practice is held Thursday at 7 p.m. in the outdoor arena, weather permitting. Helping Hands of Ennis is in need of food and staple items for their outreach program. Donations of protein sources such as tuna, peanut butter, canned meats, powdered milk and any other items would be appreciated.

Family First Hospice needs volunteers for the Ennis, Ovilla, Red Oak, Ferris, Midlothian, Venus, Corsicana, Bloomingrove, Desoto and Cedar Hill areas. Feb. 2 – Hot Classic Red and Black 1967 Ford Mustang GT Super Raffle – benefiting St. John School will be held at the first Blue and White Ball from 6:30 p.m.-midnight Feb. 2, complete with dinner and dance, featuring Czech and Then Some. Admission to the dinner and dance is $15. Raffle tickets for the Mustang are being sold for $50 each and can be purchased at St. John Elementary School or Blazek Building Supply of Ennis and at the door. Final drawing will be held during the ball.
TSRRA scholars announced
TSPRA recently announced scholarship recipients to its annual conference. Local recipients include Henry Martinez of Ennis ISD. Martinez, the district’s director of public relations, received a three-day conference scholarship and also was awarded a membership certificate. The scholarship committee included chairman Monica Faulkenbery, APR; Tony Thetford, APR; Kris Taylor, APR; and Laura Cade.
