This year’s featured speaker at the Dinah Weable Breast Cancer Survivors Pink Ribbons and Heart Luncheon will be Cindy Smith, executive vice president of Citizens National Bank of Texas.

Smith will share the story of her battle and victory over breast cancer at the seventh annual luncheon, slated for 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, at the First United Methodist Church Family Life Center in Waxahachie.

“We are excited and proud to announce this year’s luncheon speaker is one of our own,” committee member Don Wilson said. “Lifetime Waxahachie resident, Weable luncheon  committee member and breast cancer survivor Cindy Smith will share her story.

“Smith is married to her high school sweetheart, Blaine, and is the mother of two. Her younger sister also joined her family after the deaths of both their parents,” Wilson said.

Wilson remarked that Smith is known throughout the community as a worker “who has put hundreds if not thousands of hours into virtually every organization and anything that needs doing to make Waxahachie a better place.”

“She put that same personal drive, spirit, and winning attitude into her own successful fight with breast cancer,” he said.
