The Midlothian Chamber of Commerce is hosting the workshop “Effective Advertising” for Chamber members at 7:45 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1, at the Chamber office at 310 North 9th Street, located inside the Citizens National Bank of Texas building.

This workshop, the first in the fall series of the Survive and Thrive Workshops hosted by the Chamber’s Small Business Committee, is offered at no cost to Chamber members.

“This is a great program designed to provide helpful information to our members, presented by other Chamber members,” said Amanda Miller, president of the Midlothian Chamber of Commerce.  “Our members are our greatest resource. This is a great example of members connecting with other members.”

Presenters for the workshop will include Lauren Borders, of Living Magazine and  Barbara Fris, of the Midlothian Mirror.

Presenters will be addressing the following questions: Is printed advertising right for your business?  How do you calculate return on investment for advertising? How does a small business with a limited advertising budget decide where to spend advertising dollars? How can you measure the effectiveness of your advertising?

Other workshops will be scheduled throughout September and October to finish out the fall series of workshops. For information on presenting at a Survive and Thrive workshop, contact Amanda Miller at the Chamber.

“This is a great venue to encourage Chamber members to get to know fellow Chamber members,” Miller said. “One way to strengthen our local economy is to insure that our local businesses are indeed doing business with local companies, and the first step is to introduce them to each other.”

Although the workshops will not allow for members to present a sales pitch of their businesses during the presentation, it will allow chamber members to share their experiences and expertise in their fields of business.
