The seventh annual Gingerbread House children’s advocacy center chili cook-off and barn dance will be held Friday-Sunday, Feb. 1-3, at the Ellis County Expo Center.

The event features CASI-sanctioned chili cook-offs all three days, with junior, novice and bean competition also on Saturday. A celebrity mechanical bull-riding competition is Friday-Saturday, with a silent auction Saturday.

Among the silent auction items are four tickets and a parking pass to an upcoming Dallas Mavericks game, donated by Pleasant Manor Health and Rehabilitation Center.

The tickets will be available for bid during Saturday evening’s barn dance.

“The tickets are on row eight, behind the Mavs’ bench,” said Eric Feinman, Pleasant Manor administrator.

Admission to the chili cook-offs Friday evening, Saturday during the day and Sunday during the day is free. Tickets for the barn dance Saturday evening are available for purchase at the Daily Light office or by calling the Gingerbread House at 972-937-1870.
