The Midlothian High School Class of 2009 wants to change the world.

Seniors from Midlothian High School will host a Baccalaureate Service this weekend and, as always, they are inviting the community to take part in this traditional high school graduation event.

Through the use of personal speaking, music, drama and even a little humor, this year’s program that promises to be uplifting as well as challenging. Midlothian High School Baccalaureate will be held at 8 p.m. Sunday at MHS Auditorium on the MHS High School Campus.

As always the service will be entirely student led.

Sunday night’s service will include special music, praise music, prayer and a message.

Event organizers said the music will be young and new but the prayer and message will be time-honored and true.

Most Midlothian churches are playing a role in Sunday’s ceremony.

Students are asked to be at the high school by 7:15 p.m. to begin lining up. The doors open at 7:30 p.m. and the community is urged to arrive early for good seating. The ceremony is scheduled to last about 75 minutes.

Baccalaureate Services in Midlothian are the last formal community event for 2009 seniors prior to graduation at 8 p.m. June 4 at the MISD football stadium.
