Alvarado Junior High honored seventh grader Natasha Gaskill and teacher Marilyn Isom as the student and teacher of the month for April. “Natasha plays in the symphonic band and is a good student,” principal Melodye Brooks said. “She always has a smile on her face and is a joy to have.” Isom has taught social studies at the junior high for over 20 years and has helped in preparing the state’s TAKS test for social studies. “She is a great teacher and enjoys her students,” Brooks said. Nominations for student and teacher of the month are taken by the Random Acts of Kindness Club at the junior high. Each winner receives a $25 gift certificate to Fresco’s, compliments of Best Homes.
