WAXAHACHIE — The driver of a box truck was transported by ground ambulance to Baylor Scott and White Medical Center in Waxahachie after sustaining injuries in a single vehicle accident on Friday afternoon. Emergency crews were dispatched at about 1 p.m. to Interstate Highway 35E near Pimlico Road.
“We had a driver that was driving southbound on U.S. Highway 287. He said he fell asleep and drove off the roadway,” Waxahachie Police Officer David Bittle said. “He got on this embankment and flipped the truck over on its side.”
Bittle said the truck was empty at the time and no other vehicles were involved in the accident. Also responding to the scene were members of the Waxahachie Fire Department.
