San Antonio resident Arturo Longoria Soto, 39, was indicted by an Ellis County Grand Jury on a charge of money laundering Wednesday, Jan. 9. Deputies with the Ellis County Sheriff’s Office arrested Soto on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013.
According to the indictment Soto allegedly concealed and transported the proceeds of criminal activity, drug or weapons trafficking. The value of the alleged proceeds were $100,000 or more but less than $200,000. Soto was booked into the Wayne McCollum Detention Center with bonds totaling $40,000 but has since bonded out. Attorney Mark Griffith has been retained as Soto’s attorney. Soto’s next appearance in the 40th Judicial District Court for her arraignment is set for Thursday, Feb. 6.
