With the new health insurance requirement Ten Clinic is offering an affordable option for everyone in Ellis County. Ten Clinic, which stands for Treat Everyone Now, opened its doors last week in Waxahachie and is quickly growing.
“We are a family practice and we treat ages 2 and up. We basically treat all of the chronic medical problems like diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol. We treat acute illness like the flu, the cold or if somebody has pneumonia,” Ten Clinic Dr. Ron Bryce said. “We also treat minor emergencies. If someone on the job has a laceration and needs stitches. We can treat uncomplicated fractures that don’t need surgery, and we do other minor surgeries likes an ingrown toe nail or skin abscesses.”
Bryce said Ten Clinic can pretty much provide the same services that any normal family doctor can. Bryce and his wife Lydia started stated Ten Clinic six months ago in Red Oak and soon outgrew their facility, necessitating the move to a larger location in Waxahachie.
Bryce is a family practice and board certified doctor with 25 years of emergency room experience. Working alongside Bryce is Dr. Ransome Etindi who is an internal medicine specialist. The clinic also has a registered nurse and is looking to add a second nurse.
“We want to fit the niche of same day service. You call in the morning that you're sick and you are seen the same day. One of the things that has always bothered me is having people wait to see a doctor,” Bryce said. “I don’t want to have people wait. If they are sick, we need to see them.”
Bryce said more than 90 percent of the patients that request an appointment to see a doctor at Ten Clinic are seen the same day, if not the next day. Patients can call the office at 972-576-3032 to set up an appointment or text the office at the same number.
One of the ways that Ten Clinic is different from other doctor’s offices is it does not accept insurance. Families pay $59 per month to cover all members and pay $10 per service, such as a standard office visits (with a limit of three per month), adult annual exams, school sports physicals, flu shots, tetanus shots and lab tests. Ten Clinic also partners with local dentists, chiropractors, eye care clinics and pharmacies to provide a quality health care package.
“My wife, Lydia, and I started Ten Clinic after the health care law changed because we foresaw that there would be a need for people who were losing their health insurance or had a real high deductible and could not get in to see their doctors,” Bryce said. “We are able to provide care without as much cost because we don’t spend that extra 40 percent filing insurance.”
Ten Clinic is located at 300 W. First St. in Waxahachie. It is open from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday. For more information about Ten Clinic go to its website at www.tenclinic.com.
