Iva Jean Clark Hayes, life-long resident of Midlothian entered Heaven on Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014. Iva Jean was born on Oct.10, 1934 to Hubert and Jimmie Clark in Cedar Hill. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert as well as her parents. Iva Jean worked for Lawson Bros. and Clark Implement Co. as a bookkeeper. After her working years, she enjoyed being a homemaker and a grandmother. Her family settled in Midlothian in the 1800s. Iva Jean was known as a cornerstone of the community. She was an active member of her church. Her love for her family was the most important aspect of her being. The family vacations to Red River, N.M. were her highlights with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She hardly missed any sporting events, taking homemade food for the team and family! Mom and Dad were examples of a godly husband and wife team, who were life-long sweethearts. They passed their love history to their family.
Iva is survived by her children, Gilba Hollabaugh and husband, William of Midlothian, Dana Huber and husband, Hugh of Waxahachie and Ronda Griffin and significant other, Jerry McCurry of Ft. Worth; grandchildren, Jill and Matt Broughton of Houston, Jana Hollabaugh and A.J. Escamilla of Maypearl, Ashley Huber of Waxahachie, Kevin and Alex Griffin of Maypearl, Kristin, Kasey, and Miranda Griffin of Midlothian; 10 great-grandchildren and her brother, John Charles Clark.
A visitation was held Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014 at Midlothian Funeral Home. Services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 19, 2014 at the First United Methodist Church in the Main Sanctuary. Burial will follow at Midlothian Cemetery.
