A Letter to the Waxahachie Community:

I am excited to have the opportunity to serve the students, teachers, parents, and community of the Waxahachie Independent School District. I join this community dedicated to helping each one of our children achieve academic success, and I look forward to continuing to build on the rich tradition of excellence established by my predecessors.

I grew up in Marble Falls, Texas located just outside of Austin. My wife, Karisa, is an elementary teacher and we have four children ranging from pre-k to ninth grade. During my fourteen year educational career I have served students in the role of teacher, coach, principal, assistant superintendent, and superintendent. My experiences in these varied roles has helped better prepare me for the challenges we face in Waxahachie.

I am looking forward to working with the current leadership team, teachers, and staff in Waxahachie ISD. We have exceptional teachers and administrators in place already. I plan to spend time listening, learning, and partnering with all district stakeholders. By working together as a team we will take what we have and make it better. Do not expect drastic change, but rather an administration that will put support systems in place for our teachers and students so that they are able to perform at a high level.

Dr. C. Everett Koop, former U.S. Surgeon General, once wrote, “Life affords no greater responsibility, no greater privilege, than the raising of the next generation.” Our leadership team will work diligently with our staff to provide all students with the high quality education expected by our community. We will work to build strong relationships with our local business, civic, political, church, and community leaders to ensure that WISD plays an active role in the community it serves.

I am truly humbled by this incredible opportunity. I want to express my sincere gratitude to the WISD Board of Trustees and the community of Waxahachie for allowing me to serve as your school superintendent. It is an honor to serve with such an extraordinary group of educators. I pray that by working together we will provide all students in this district with the skills needed to realize their dreams.

I would like to personally thank each of you for welcoming me and my family to this wonderful community. I look forward to getting to know each of you in the coming weeks and months ahead.

Respectfully,

Dr. Jeremy Glenn
