KBEC Radio, the Waxahachie Daily Light and the Ellis County Republican Women will host a forum for candidates running in the March GOP Primary on Thursday, Jan. 16 at the Waxahachie Civic Center.

Sponsored by the Ellis County Republican Women, the event will be moderated by KBEC AM 1390’s Ken Roberts and the Daily Light’s Neal White. The event will begin at 6 p.m. with an informational “meet-and-greet” with GOP candidates running for office in the March primary.

At 7 p.m., Roberts and White will begin the forum, providing each of the Republican candidates vying in contested Ellis County races an opportunity to introduce themselves and discuss their platforms.

The forum is open to the public and residents are encouraged to attend in an effort to learn more about the candidates and their positions.

The forum will focus on the following contested races in the Ellis County Republican Primary Election (candidates listed in order of ballot placement):

State Representative, District 10 — T.J. Fabby, Duke Burge, Jake Ellzey, John Wray. Ellis County Judge — Charles Hatfield, Carol Bush, R.C. Lyon, Richard Rozier. Ellis County Commissioner Precinct 2 — Bill Dodson, Darren Bravenec, David Gardner, Tim Berneking, Lane Grayson. Ellis County Commissioner Precinct 4 — Dave Vance, Kyle Butler, Bill Vansyckle. Ellis County Court at Law Judge No. 2 — Ricky Sipes, A. Gene Calvert Jr. Ellis County GOP County Chairman — Marty Hiles, Jim Parker.
