ďIím part of the fourth generation of Dodsons living in Ellis County. Since the 1800s my family has worked the land, sowed the seeds of progress and made a positive difference in the county. The family heritage of giving back to the people of Ellis County is the reason Iím seeking your vote for re-election as County Commissioner of Precinct 2.
I could have been content with my life. For 30-plus years I worked the line or held management positions with Saint-Gobain Containers in Waxahachie. For almost 10 years I served the public as a member of the board of trustees for the Ennis ISD. I was chairman of the Industrial Council for the Waxahachie Chamber of Commerce for two terms. I have served the citizens of Precinct 2 as County Commissioner for the last seven years. I currently serve on the Emergency Preparedness Planning Council and Radio Governance Committee at the North Central Texas Council of Government.
Iíve lived a wonderful life, am married to a beautiful wife, have six wonderful children, 11 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter, all sent by God. It would be easy to sit back and enjoy the blessings I am so honored to have.
However, my neighbors, friends and many people in Precinct 2 have encouraged me to continue representing them as their County Commissioner. They want someone who listens to them, values their opinion and responds like they are the Commissionerís special interest group, not something else. My qualifications are exactly what the people want: I listen, I value everyoneís opinion and I work for the people not the politicians. Iím ready to make a difference and with your help, what happens in Ellis County will stay where it belongs ó with the people.
