It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of N.B. “Buck” Jordan, know affectionately as “Mr. Waxahachie” for his numerous contributions to our community and its citizens during a life dedicated to service.

Our hearts and prayers go out to his wife Jane and their sons Nick and Jeff. As we share in their grief, we also celebrate Mr. Jordan’s remarkable life, especially the example he set by showing all of us what was possible when we worked together for the greater good of the community.

Throughout his life, Mr. Jordan dedicated himself to making Waxahachie a better community — for businesses that brought jobs, for families to raise children in a nurturing environment, and a place where its children could grow up to reach their dreams.

Whether volunteering his time to serve on booster clubs and community organizations or serving on the Waxahachie City Council or helping bring industries and businesses to Waxahachie during his tenure as President and CEO of the Waxahachie Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Jordan earned the title of “Mr. Waxahachie” each and every day of his life. He was a tenacious, tireless promoter of his hometown and was unwavering when it came to expressing the pride he felt for his community and its residents.

He leaves behind big shoes to fill as well as a void that can only be replaced by the combined efforts of his beloved community. Saying Mr. Jordan made a difference would be a gross understatement. He was an icon that will long be remembered not only for his deeds, but also for his compassion to the people of this community that he loved as family.

Visitation has been scheduled from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 8 at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home in Waxahachie. Mr. Jordan’s memorial service will take place at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 9 at the Waxahachie Civic Center.
