The International Ministerial Alliance of Waxahachie, in conjunction with the Waxahachie NAACP, will sponsor the Martin Luther King Day Parade at 3 p.m. Monday, Jan. 20

The parade will begin in front of the Historic Ellis County Courthouse, where a brief introduction will be given. It will then proceed to Freedman Memorial Plaza, and City Councilman Chuck Beatty will offer words of reflection.

Proceeding from Freedman to Joshua Chapel AME Church, attendees will be presented a short program featuring one of the most famous speeches ever given. Ricky Don Sargent will recite King’s “I Have A Dream” speech delivered during the March on Washington Aug. 28, 1963.
