Last week, the Waxahachie freshmen football teams both got district wins against Mansfield Summit.

The A team won a nail-biter 22-21.

Kareem Erskine led the offense with three passing touchdowns. He threw touchdowns to Jake Latimer, Antwyan Redic and Keontrey Jackson.

Anthony Gospodarek and Nick Stewart did a great job of blocking for Erskine.

The defense was led by defensive back Logan Clemens, defensive lineman Keiondre Henderson and linebackers Anthony Bartolo and Tyson Beechum.

The A team remains undefeated and improves its record to (4-0) on the year.

The B team held on to knock off Summit 20-14.

Cameron Morris, the running back, and Alex Hughes, the quarterback, each threw for a touchdown in this game. Alex Diaz had both a rushing and receiving touchdown.

Don Hinds did a great job blocking on the line.

The defense was led by defensive backs Juan Gress and Diaz, linebackers Misael Fierror and Shawn Miller and defensive linemen Blake Bullard and Colton Kiser.

The B team remains undefeated and improves its record to (2-0-1) on the year.

The teams will be in action again this week, but against different teams.

The A team will go on the road to Lancaster at 7 p.m. Thursday.

The B team will host Duncanville at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
