Barbara Hurn Forrest, 61, passed away Sunday, Sept. 29, 2013 at her home in Richardson. Born Nov. 3, 1951 in San Antonio, Texas to Bill and Mary (Dunn) Hurn of Waxahachie, Barbara graduated from Waxahachie High School in 1969 and from The University of Texas in 1973 with a bachelor’s degree in pharmacology. She worked as a pharmacist at Tom Thumb in Plano for 13 years.

Barbara married Rob Forrest on Dec. 3, 2005. She loved to fly and had her pilot license. Barbara also enjoyed traveling and going to the movies. She was very strong in her faith and spent a lot of time doing things for others. Barbara loved spending time with her family, especially her grandson, Geoffrey Arvesen.

She was survived by her husband of seven years, Rob Forrest; two daughters, Brandilyn Nicole Cooke and Bonnie Ann; son-in-law, Clayton Tinsley of McKinney; grandson, Geoffrey Arvesen; mother and father Mary and Bill Hurn of Waxahachie; brother and sister-in-law, Doug and Michelle Hurn of Waxahachie; nephew, Randy Hurn and wife Angela; and niece, Lisa Hilzendager and husband, John.

Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2013 at the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2013 in the chapel of the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home with Dr. David Ritsema officiating. Interment will follow at the Rosemont Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include Rob Forrest, Doug Hurn, Randy Hurn, Clayton Tinsley, J.D. Hilzendager and Clay Crabtree. Honorary pallbearers will include Geoffrey Arvesen, Robert Cooke and Jay Crabtree.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home in Waxahachie.
