The Waxahachie Lady Indian golf team will begin its 2013 fall season today at the Lady Pirate Fall Classic in Harbor Lakes Golf Course in Granbury.

Just like last year, this years team has just one senior. Baylee Mallett will be leading the way this year for the team.

Its my last year, so I just want to have some fun, Mallett said. Its kind of weird because there were a couple of seniors my first two years and now theres just one. Im going to try and get the other girls to just calm down.

Mallett will be joined on the team by returning starters Kristian Fater, Veronica Cruz and Hannah Ensinia, who will all be juniors. None of them have played this course before, but they arent too worried about that.

Ive never seen the course before, Mallett said. But Im just going to play it like Ive seen it before and not stress it.

Mallett is hoping that her offseason work will help pay off now.

Ive been trying to get my strength up, Mallett said. I drive about 200 yards now and Im trying to get more. Im ready to get the season started.
