Last week, the Waxahachie JV Green took on the Corsicana Tigers on the road.
The Indians ran away with a 48-13 win behind three punt returns for touchdown by junior Chaznick McGee.
Waxahachie got on the board on the first drive of the game behind running back Lorenzo Saldivar and his 47 yards rushing on the drive. Saldivar scored the touchdown on a 33-yard scamper.
The Indians followed that touchdown with an onside kick by Garrett David and Jamil Easley recovered it.
Waxahachie again marched down field to go up 14-0 after a quarterback keeper by Kyle Huskins.
A great defensive stop on the ensuing drive lead to McGee’s first of three touchdown returns. The first went for 60 yards.
After another three-and-out, the offense struck again on another touchdown run from 15 yards out by Saldivar.
The Indians completed their first half scoring with back-to-back punt returns from McGee and raced into halftime with a 41-7 lead.
The second half went quicker as both teams scored just a touchdown each. Waxahachie’s score came on its first drive of second half on a reverse by Justin Haines from four yards out.
Waxahachie accumulated more than 250 yards on the ground.
The defense was a big factor in the game as Corsicana struggled to get things going and the defense was led in tackles by junior safety Chris Littrell.
The JV Green team is now (2-1) on the year.
