RED OAK — Anita A. Knight has joined the TSTC North Texas Extension Center in Red Oak, as vice president of corporate solutions.

She will begin her position on Oct. 1, 2013. Knight brings a wealth of business experience to the new TSTC enterprise. She previously served as TSTC Waco’s interim director and senior project manager for Workforce Development, providing custom training programs for Texas industry.  

Prior to joining TSTC, Knight founded and was CEO and Executive Director of Knight-Star Enterprises and Knight-Star Institute, respectively, which trained and educated Texas hospitals and Independent School Districts.

Before moving to Waco in 2000, she was deputy program leader for Emergency Management at WakeMed Health & Hospitals in Raleigh, N.C., public information officer and public affairs manager for Allstate Corporation’s National Catastrophe Team, and Vice Chairman of the Institute for Business & Home Safety’s (IBHS) Response & Recovery Committee.

As loaned Eexecutive to IBHS, she forged public-private partnerships for emergency preparedness in Washington, D.C. and many high-risk states.

Knight graduated with honors from DePaul University in Chicago with a bachelor of arts degree in general business.
