Who is ready to be a Hachie Hero? Waxahachie students, staff and alumni are gearing up for a great week of homecoming festivities which will kick off on Monday, Sept. 30.

 This year’s homecoming theme is “Hachie Heroes.”

On Monday, Sept. 30 the entire community is invited to kick off the celebration by touring the halls of Waxahachie High School at 7 p.m. and viewing the super hero themed hallway decorations. Community members will then vote for their favorite hero themed hallway.

On Thursday, Oct. 3, the Waxahachie Ex-Students Association will host the second annual WHS Athletic Hall of Fame dinner and induction ceremony at the Waxahachie Civic Center beginning at 7 p.m.

Tickets are $50 and may be purchased online by visiting www.waxahachieexstudents.org   

On Friday, Oct. 4, the annual homecoming parade will be held at 3 p.m.

Early registration prices for the homecoming floats and entries ends Friday, Sept. 20.

At 7:30 p.m. the Tribe will take on the Lancaster Tigers at Stuart B. Lumpkins Stadium.  

The introduction and crowing of the 2013 Homecoming King and Queen nominees will take place during pre-game ceremonies beginning at 7 p.m. and half-time will include performances by the WHS Spirit of Waxahachie Indian Band and the Cherokee Charmers.

On Saturday, Oct. 5, the third annual Legacy Run will be held at Stuart B. Lumpkins Stadium at 8 a.m.  

Featuring a 5K, 10K, and One Mile Fun Run, the run benefits the Education Foundation for Waxahachie ISD and more than 600 runners are expected to attend this year.

Closing out the weekend will be the annual Ex-Students Association Luncheon to be held at the Ninth Grade Academy at 11:30 a.m.

Tickets are $12 per person and may be purchased online by visiting www.waxahachieexstudents.org  Tickets will be $15 on the day of the event.

Tickets to the football game may be purchased all week long at Neighborhood Credit Union (across the street from WHS) and at the Athletic Office located in the Press Box lobby.  

Tickets will be available at WHS and WNGA on Friday only from 11:30 – 12:30 p.m.
