Hometown Chiropractic community event

Hometown Chiropractic would like to invite everyone in the community to join them for Patient Appreciation Day from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14 at 607 Ferris Ave.

Sip N Stroll

Visitors to downtown Waxahachie can sample many different types of wine while enjoying an evening out. The Sip N Stroll event will take place from 4-7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14. at different businesses scattered around downtown.

Wine will be featured from Messina Hof and Miranda Lambertís Red 55 Winery. The tickets for the event are $10 per person, which includes a souvenir event wine glass.

Tickets may be purchased the at the visitor center located at 201 S. College St.

Downtown Car Show and Street Dance

A car show and sock hop street dance will take place from 6-9 p.m. Sept. 14 in downtown Waxahachie. Downtown Waxahachie is located off of Main Street.

Midlothian Downtown Farmers Market

The Midlothian Downtown Business Association will host its downtown farmers market from 8 a.m.-noon every Saturday until October at Heritage Park by the Larkin Newton Log Cabin.

Friday Book Club to meet

The Friday Book Club will meet in the home of Nancy Hightower at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 13. Guest reviewer will be Mary Booty.

Horse health event at Tractor Supply

Tractor Supply Co. in Waxahachie will hold a horse health event from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14. Included in the festivities are free horseback rides, used tack for sale and a benefit bake sale with beautiful cakes, pies and goodies.

Participants include Campfire Creek Therapeutic Riding Center, Windy Hill Stables and 4C Stables, demonstrations from farrier Tiffany Gardner and veterinarian Dr. Rohn Hendricks will answer questions about horse health from 10 a.m.-noon.

Italy Opry

The Italy Opry will perform beginning at 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, at 161 Main St. in Italy.

Free admission, donations will be accepted. Food and drink will be available for purchase.

WYBA board positions open

The Waxahachie Youth Baseball Association provides a place and an organization where the youth of Waxahachie and surrounding areas can play and enjoy the game of baseball and softball. This year WYB has had more than 2,300 boys and girls play in our spring, summer, and fall leagues. †

WYB needs eager volunteers to fill open positions on the associationís board of directors. Board of directors are volunteers who are elected by the the current† board members.

The association is looking for the following board positions: Blast Ball director, 5U director, 6U director, 8U director, 9U director, 10U director, 11/12U director, 13/14U director, 15-18U director

Other director positions up for election are secretary, treasurer, and equipment director.† The league is also in need of directors for the different divisions in girls softball league.

The election will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 15, at the Optimist Youth Center, 219 Patrick St., located in front of the Optimist Park baseball fields in Waxahachie.
