ENNIS — TeleTech Holding Inc. and Ennis Mayor Russell Thomas held aN Ennis Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting Tuesday morning to celebrate TeleTech bringing 400 new jobs to Ennis.
“TeleTech has been a great boon for Ennis, bringing in 400 jobs and up to 750 (in the future),” Thomas said. “TeleTech has a great outlook and have been great corporate citizens for Ennis.”
TeleTech Executive Director Dion Raymond said that some of their clients had no idea where Ennis was, but when they arrived, were welcomed by the city with warm smiles.
“We have received Ennis’ full support and we in turn have supplied the community with new jobs,” Raymond said.
He also talked about TeleTech as a company and its approach in creating a small business atmosphere.
“TeleTech is a rather large company with 44,000 employees across 56-60 operations worldwide. We are not a small company, but we like to have that tight-knit feel of a small company which really makes all the difference,” he said.
President of the Ennis Chamber of Commerce Jeanette Patak and Chamber Ambassador Chairman Allen Morris officially welcomed TeleTech to the chamber and Ennis community by presenting Raymond with a wooden, engraved member plaque.
Immediately following the ribbon cutting, TeleTech held a job fair at fill about 40 remaining positions.
TeleTech Talent Acquisition Manager Tamika Daniels said now that the facility has reached 400 employees, new hires will slow down, but TeleTech has the capacity to launch another hiring campaign and add another 400 positions in the future.
“We have about 400 employees now and can hold up to 750-800 at this facility,” Daniels said. “We’re almost done with hiring and will slow down in October or November when we reach our peak.”
She said TeleTech’s Ennis location is in a prime spot for hiring throughout Ellis County from Waxahachie, Ennis and Corsicana, with plenty of qualified applicants within its 30-mile radius.
The Ennis facility has a major Medicare component in which employees serve corporate and business clients by assisting with enrollment, coverage and limitations with special licensed agents that market this service to businesses.
