Marvin Clifton “Red” Wammack, 87, passed away at Baylor Hospital in Dallas, Texas on Sept. 8, 2013. He was born Jan. 27, 1926 in Euless, Texas to the late Lawrence O. Wammack and Hazel V. Hughes. He was a longtime resident of Red Oak, Texas where he was a dairyman for many years and later developed the Red Oak Valley Golf Club.
Red is preceded in death by his wife, Vivian Johns Wammack; also by his parents, Lawrence O. and Hazel V. Hughes Wammack.
He survived by his wife, Jean Hubbard Wammack; by his children, Cliff Wammack and his wife, Connie Dawson Wammack, Sharon Wammack Hammond and her husband, Jim; his sister, Helen Sowards; his grandchildren, Chad and Cammie, Jared, Jennifer and Brandon Wammack, Jerry and Sue Hubbard. Jeffrey and Sharon Hubbard also loved “Red” who was Paw Paw to their children.
Carsen Wammack was his No. 1 great-granddaughter and Master Logan Wammack the great-grandson.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013, at Wayne Boze Funeral Home in Waxahachie.
A celebration of his life is scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013, at the First United Methodist Church of Red Oak with Pastor Allen Grant officiating. Interment will follow at Laurel Land Memorial Park, Dallas, Texas.
