To the Editor,

Nicholas P. Sims Library wishes to thank the community that participated in the Texas Summer Reading Program.  Adults, teens, and children read books in droves all summer long — not only for entertainment, but also, for enrichment. Our program concluded on Aug. 10 with a celebratory carnival, hosted by The Friends of Sims Library. The carnival was to congratulate the children on their well-earned reading endeavors over a two-month period.

The Summer Reading Program, however, would not have been possible without the generous donations from our sponsors: The Friends of Sims Library, A&W, Applebee’s, Buffalo Wild Wings, Burger King, CNB Texas, Cancun Mexican Restaurant, Carino’s, Chick-fil-A, Chili’s, CiCi’s Pizza, Dickey’s Barbecue Pit, Eubanks Florist, Family Video, HEB, Hallmark, The Home Depot, I-Hop, Logan’s Roadhouse, Long John Silver’s, Lowe’s, McDonald’s, Merry Toppins, Mosaic Madness, NTB/National Tire & Battery, Nitty Gritty Cleaning Service, Panda Express, Pizza Inn, Rotary International, Ryan’s, ShowBiz,Style America;

Ta Molly’s, Target, Tuscan Slice, Uncle Willie’s Pies, Vintage Bank, WalMart, What-a-burger, World Finance Corporation, and Zula’s Coffee House. A HUGE “Thank you” to all!

As always, Nicholas P. Sims Library is proud to serve the city of Waxahachie and its residents, as well as the community of Ellis County.  We look forward to many more fun and educational events with you in the future. To keep up with current activities, please visit us on the web at
