The Waxahachie Police Department is seeking the publicís assistance in locating an unidentified suspect in the attempted burglary of an ATM machine in downtown Waxahachie early Friday morning.

The ATM machine is located next to the pocket park on Franklin Street.

Lt. Todd Woodruff said an attempt was made to break into the machine. The ATM was damaged, but nothing was taken.

Officers responding to the call found a cutting torch at the scene. The incident happened about 3:30 a.m.

Anyone with information should contact the Waxahachie Police Department at 469-309-4400. Information may also be sent in through Waxahachie Crime Stoppers tip line at 972-937-PAYS (7297).

Crime Stoppers will pay up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest and/or conviction for this crime. Information can be left anonymously and all tips are confidential.

The tip line is answered 24-hours a day, seven days a week by volunteers, and a translator will be available if needed.
