The Waxahachie Police Department is seeking help from the public on an armed robbery that took place Thursday morning. The robbery occurred at the Cash Store located in the 800 block of U.S. Highway 77 at 11:50 a.m.

According to Waxahachie police reports ,the suspect displayed a handgun during the robbery and fled with an undetermined amount of cash. No shot were fired. Detectives are checking surveillance video at nearby businesses for additional clues that may lead to the identity and location of the suspect.

Lt. Todd Woodruff said the suspect involved in the robbery is described as a tan or dark-skinned male in his 40s. At the time of the robbery the unidentified suspect was wearing a white shirt, black pants and a large Afro wig.

Anyone with information should contact Det. Kyle Ranton at 469-309-4439. Information can also be sent in through the Waxahachie Crime Stoppers tip line at 972-937-PAYS (7297). Crime Stoppers will pay up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest and/or conviction of this crime.

The tip line is answered 24-hours a day, seven days a week by volunteers, and a translator will be available if needed. Information about this offence can be given in person at the Waxahachie Police Department located at 216 N. College St.
