An Ellis County Grand Jury has indicted Venus resident Reginald Raymond Curtis, 25, on the charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Ellis County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Curtis Thursday, July 4, on charges relating to an incident that took place June 30.
According to information handed down in the indictment, on Sunday, June 30, Curtis allegedly discharged a shotgun at the victim and allegedly said he was going to kill the victim.
Curtis was booked into the Wayne McCollum Detention Center at 10:16 p.m. and remains in custody at this time. His bond has been set at $50,000.
Dan Cox has been appointed as Curtis’ attorney. Curtis is due to appear in court will be on Thursday, Oct. 3 for arraignment in the 40th Judicial District Court before Judge Bob Carroll.
