During Tuesday’s scheduled Waxahachie City Council meeting, the Waxahachie Lions Club will present a request for street closures for the 11th annual Mini Grand Prix Race to be held in downtown Waxahachie. The Race will be held Saturday, Oct. 19.
The proceeds from the race go to support the mission of the Lions Club of helping others in the community.
Funds are raised from sponsorships from local businesses and entry fees from teams that participate in the race.
The council will also consider the annual service plan update, which includes the collection of the 2013-2014 annual installment for the Waxahachie Public Improvement District No. 1.
In other action scheduled for the council Tuesday evening:
A public hearing on the amendment to roadway, water and waste impact fees will be held.
The council will consider an interlocal agreement with Ellis County for the maintenance of roads, bridges, waterways and ditches.
The council will consider a memorandum of understanding that would allow the sale of used police vehicles and equipment to the Waxahachie Independent School District.
The council will also consider a resolution of candidate nominations for the Ellis Central Appraisal District board of directors for years 2014-2015.
Councilors will then discuss setting a date for a workshop to discuss the proposed city budget for the 2013-2014 fiscal year.
A proclamation naming September as “Blood Cancer Awareness Month” will be presented by the council.
At the end of the regular session the public will have an opportunity to make petitions and requests of the council.
The regular council meeting starts at 7 p.m. Tuesday Sept. 3, in the council chambers at city hall. City hall is located at 401 S. Rogers St. in Waxahachie. The meeting is open to the public.
