EDITOR’S NOTE: The Daily Light publishes campaign announcements for all candidates running in Ellis County races. Announcements are submitted by the candidate and published as submitted.

My name is Kyle Butler and I am announcing my candidacy for Ellis County Commissioner, Precinct 4 in the next Republican primary election.

I am a life-long resident of Ellis County, growing up on a small farm between Waxahachie and Midlothian. I am a graduate of Waxahachie High School.

My wife Robin and I have six children and two grandchildren. We have been active members of The Avenue Church for 14 years.

Mom and dad instilled in me a very strong work ethic. I spent almost 17 years at Tyler Refrigeration, where I advanced to management as a material planner before the company moved its operations.

Seven years ago I began my career at Ellis County Precinct 4 as a road worker. For the past four years I have been foreman under Commissioner Ron Brown. I take great pride in my work, and always strive to improve quality and performance for the county. Working more efficiently and productively is my daily focus. The Precinct 4 crew is one of the best road crews out there. They, too, take great pride in their work.

I am proud to announce my candidacy for Ellis County Commissioner Precinct 4.

As commissioner, I will work to be an efficient, productive and selective steward of the taxpayer’s money. I will work hard to continue public safety and represent Ellis County to the fullest.

With my hands-on experience, I will continually work to improve road and bridge transportation.

I also have my own ideas to bring to Ellis County.

There is always room for improvement, and that is my goal. I understand the constant struggle of maintaining road and county expenditures in a cost-effective manner. I have a great ear for listening. I am a patient man, and I know how to get the job done.

A great man once told me that “you are as good as your word, it tells everything about you.” My Dad taught me that a long time ago. As your commissioner, you will have my enthusiasm, my commitment and my word that I will work diligently for the citizens of Ellis County.

I want to thank the residents of Ellis County Precinct 4 for this opportunity to represent them, and ask for their vote in the GOP primary election.
