The Midlothian tennis eam hosted the Ennis Lions last week and defeated them 10-7.

The Panthers went up 4-3 after doubles with a strong performance from girls No. 1 doubles LeAnn Wilson and Julia Deloach winning 6-2, 6-4.

The Panthers clinched the match winning both No. 5 and No. 6 girls singles by Hannah Nunns and Amber Hamel.

The next day, the Panthers traveled to Waco where they lost to Georgetown in the morning, but bounced back and defeated Waco Robinson 18-1 and Copperas Cove 17-2 in the afternoon.

The Panthers had impressive performances by sophomores Andrew Windham, Max Wilson, Ben Bryant and Jacob Hart-Siddique.

Earlier in the week, Midlothian fought hard but came up short against Abilene. Chuck Scott playing No. 1 singles and looked sharp in a three-set victory.

Junior Hannah Nunns also looked good with a 6-1, 6-2 victory in the No. 5 girls singles match.

Midlothian (6-5) will host Corsicana at 4 p.m. Thursday.
