Waxahachie Independent School District, in conjunction with the City of Waxahachie and Waxahachie Chamber of Commerce, are proud to announce the 2nd Annual Dale Hansen Football Classic.
The Classic will take place Sept. 6-7, in the state-of-the-art Stuart B. Lumpkins Stadium in Waxahachie.
The Dale Hansen Football Classic will feature three exhibition games – one on Friday night and two on Saturday. Friday night’s match up will feature the Italy Gladiators and the Malakoff Tigers.
Saturday will feature a double-header beginning at 4 p.m. The first game will highlight the Thrall Tigers against the Florence Buffalos. The second game will showcase the Alvarado Indians as they take on the Mexia Blackcats.
Pre-sale tickets will be available at each high school campus participating in the Classic (Italy, Malakoff, Florence, Thrall, Alvarado & Mexia) beginning Aug. 26-Sept. 5. Pre-sale tickets for Waxahachie, Ellis County residents, and Dallas-Fort Worth area residents may be purchased at the Waxahachie ISD Administration building located at 411 N. Gibson Street.
Ticket prices for Friday, Sept. 6 are $5 Pre-Sale/$8 Game Day. Tickets for Saturday, Sept. 7 are $7 Pre-Sale/$10 Game Day (Includes admission to both Saturday games). Children 5 and under will be FREE with purchase of an adult ticket.
Along with the three football games, 12 students from the participating schools will be awarded scholarships at a Champions Breakfast and honored during a pre-game ceremony during the Classic.

Dale Hansen is an award winning sportscaster with ABC’s Dallas affiliate WFAA, Channel 8. Hansen is the weeknight sports anchor and also hosts Dale Hansen’s Sports Special on Sunday nights. Each week Hansen also recognizes a Scholar-Athlete of the Week who excels both on and off the field.
Stuart B. Lumpkins Stadium is a 9,500 seat facility that features excellent viewing capabilities from all locations, a champion style artificial playing surface, and a spacious, three-level, 6,000 square foot press box.
