Waxahachie firefighters responded to a fire at Oak Cliff Recycling, Inc. at approximately 7 p.m. Saturday on Brown Industrial Road in Waxahachie.
Crews battling the blaze had problems getting enough water supply to fight the fire. Ferris, Palmer and Bristol Fire Departments and Emergency Service District No. 6 provided tanker trucks to shuttle water to the fire engines on site. Red Oak, Midlothian and Ovilla Fire Departments also provided mutual aid.
No injuries had been reported and the origin of the fire had yet to be confirmed.
According to its website, Oak Cliff Recycling processes steel, rebar, iron stainless, aluminum, brass, motors, aluminum, copper and other ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
As of press time, firefighters were still trying to control the fire from spreading and repeatedly radioing for more water from tanker trucks.
