FERRIS ó The Ferris Police Department received a call from the E-Z Mart convenience store located at 100 N. Central reporting the theft of energy drinks and electronic device screen styluses at 11:50 a.m. Monday, Aug. 19.
Ferris Police Chief Sam Love said store employees saw a man and woman come in. The man paid for energy drinks and the female put additional energy drinks in her purse and the styluses in her pants, then walked out of the store without paying.
Police officers were given a description and license plate number of the car that the suspects left in. The suspect vehicle and the suspects where located in the 100 block of Melanie Lane at 12:35 p.m.
Ferris Police officers arrested Christina Lopez, 26, of Ferris for a class C misdemeanor theft and two warrants, no driverís license and failure to appear in court, from a previous unrelated traffic violation.
Lopez remains in the Ferris city jail with fines totaling $1,237.90 set by the Ferris Municipal Judge.
Officers also arrested Robert Lee Taylor Jr., 20, of Dallas on a theft over $50 under $500 warrant from Dallas County. He remains in the Ferris city Jail with a $1,500 bond and is due to be transferred to Ellis County for pick up by Dallas County law enforcement.
Officers recovered three of the styluses stolen.
