AVALON — Two employees from the Avalon Cooperative Gin were transported to Parkland Memorial Hospital and Methodist Dallas Medical Center, respectively, after sustaining injuries from a 12-foot fall Tuesday afternoon.
Firefighters received a call at about 3:30 p.m. to proceed to 108 W. Main St. on a medical emergency.
Avalon Assistant Fire Chief Mark Alaniz said firefighters administered basic life support care and both patients were in stable condition before being transported by ground ambulance to the hospital.
Providing assistance to Avalon were members of East Texas EMS, who transported both patients. An air ambulance from Air Evac had been requested but later disregarded.
Firefighters were on scene for about 45 minutes before returning to the station. The current condition of each patient is unavailable as of press time.
