FORT WORTH, Texas – It was a celebration 10 years in the making. And when all was done, Fuzzy’s Taco Shop had a lot more than fond memories to show for its month-long anniversary festivities.

The wildly popular chain will put a major dent in childhood hunger by connecting hungry kids with 750,000 free meals.

Thanks to the generosity of its guests and a special bounce-back voucher, Fuzzy’s fundraising initiative throughout the month of July generated a $75,000 donation to Share Our Strength’s Dine Out For No Kid Hungry campaign. Thanks to the power of the No Kid Hungry network, every $1 donated equals 10 meals for hungry kids.

“This was the first time we’ve done a system-wide fundraising campaign like this, and it was our first year to support Share Our Strength; so we really didn’t know what to expect,” said Chuck Bush, chief executive of Fuzzy’s Taco Shop. “I’m really thrilled the initiative was such a success, and I can’t thank our franchisees, our corporate team and, most of all, our awesome customers enough for supporting our effort. What a great way to help put an end to childhood hunger in America!”

Throughout July, customers at more than 65 Fuzzy’s restaurants nationwide were invited to make a $1 donation to feed hungry kids. In return, they received a voucher good for one free taco on their next visit.

Fuzzy’s restaurant in Euless, Texas, generated the most customer donations, raising over $4,200. In total, 17 locations collected more than $1,000 each for Share Our Strength, a national not-for-profit organization that works to ensure that no child in America grows up hungry.

Known for its generous helpings of uniquely flavorful Baja-style Mexican fare, Fuzzy’s Taco Shop has become an overnight sensation in the restaurant industry.

Fuzzy’s menu features its original take on the Baja taco, which is often referred to as “addictive” thanks to the garlic sauce and feta cheese that makes it so distinctive.

The restaurant also serves a wide array of handmade enchiladas, jumbo salads, nachos, burritos and its signature chips and queso. Fuzzy’s is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and most locations offer a generous selection of beer, wine, margaritas and other specialty drinks.
