Lois Inez “Tine” McClendon O’Dannel, 95, was born Aug. 19, 1918, in Mt. Peak, Ellis County, Texas and went to be with The Lord on March 15, 2013. Tine was the daughter of Daniel Boone McClendon and Nancy Idella Washington McClendon. She had four brothers: Ernest Monroe McClendon, William Preston “Chuck” McClendon, Arvel Boone “Preacher” McClendon, and Emmitt Ward (Stant) McClendon] and three sisters [Mary Saletha McClendon Bromley, Alta Zenolia “Sitter” McClendon Parsons, and Nellie Jewel “Nell” McClendon O’Daniel all of which preceded her in death.
Tine married Jessie Allen “Bud” O’Dannel on Oct. 25, 1935 and they had three children: William Boyd O’Dannel, Jerry Mack O’Dannel and Shirley Jean O’Dannel Lewis.
Bud preceded Tine in death on Feb. 19, 2003. Bud and Tine were longtime members of Ferris Avenue Baptist Church in Waxahachie, and later with the Valley Baptist Church in Yuma, Ariz.
The family will hold a memorial service for Tine and Bud at the Sardis Cemetery At 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013. All are welcome to come and share your love and memories of Bud and Tine with their friends and family.
