Aldo Russo, 78, passed away peacefully at his residence Friday, July 26, 2013, with his loving family at his side. Aldo was born in Naples, Italy, on April 10, 1935 to the late Emilio and Natalizia (Meo) Russo.
Aldo served in the Italian Navy from 1953 to 1956 and then immigrated to the United States in 1957. He was proud of his American citizenship and was very patriotic and grateful for what the United States gave him. He subsequently served in United States Navy Reserve. Aldo was a certified electrician for more than 40 years and enjoyed racing and training horses in his retirement.
Aldo was preceded in death by his wife of 23 years, Jerry McCoy Russo; his companion of 16 years, Alma Annis; brothers, John and Mario; and sisters, Rita and Mimi.
Survivors include son, Johnny Russo and his wife, Mary of Kaufman Texas; daughter, Kim Russo Siddall and her husband, Carl of Alvarado, Texas and Alda Russo of Pennsylvania; sisters, Franca of Mesquite Texas, Lina of Pagani, Italy and Maria of Naples, Italy; brother, Tony of Rome, Italy; and ex-wife, Shirley Russo of Pennsylvania. Aldo has 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
The Russo family will be receiving friends at the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home, 511 W. Main St. Waxahachie, from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 30, 2013. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 31, 2013, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Burial Park, Waxahachie, TX.
