Ellis County Sheriff’s Deputy Ken Hatcher has accepted a challenge to raise funds to support Special Olympics Texas, which provides year-round sports training and competitions for more than 44,000 individuals with intellectual disabilities.

As part of his fundraising effort, Hatcher will rappel 20 stories down the side of a high-rise building with the help of law enforcement agents. He needs to raise a minimum of $1,000 to achieve his goal and go “Over the Edge.”

“Whatever you can give will help – it all adds up,” Hatcher says. “I greatly appreciate your support.”

Donations are tax-deductible. A donation toward Hatcher’s fundraising effort can be made online at http://sotx.convio.net/site/TR/TorchRun/General?px=1247123&pg=personal&fr_id=1470 or by mail (please include his name on the check’s memo) to Special Olympics Texas, 7715 Chevy Chase Drive, Suite 120, Austin, TX 78752.
