Local non-profit organization, Tarrant County Blue, announces a call for donations and memberships to support injured police officer Charles Lodatto, a detective with the FBI North Texas Major Crimes task force. Memberships are $100 a year, lifetime memberships are $1,000 and donations are accepted in any denomination.
Detective Lodatto was shot and seriously injured Tuesday, July 23 while serving a warrant for the arrest of a suspected child molester and murderer. All monies raised through the organization will be used to send the Lodatto family, which includes Detective Lodatto, his wife and their two children on an all-expenses-paid trip anywhere in the country.
“We would like to give this trip to this well deserving family to show our support for Detective Lodatto’s dedication to making our hometowns safe to raise our families and to own our businesses,” said Greg Morse, co-founder of Tarrant County Blue and CEO of Worthington National Bank. “Due to the quick actions of the other officers on the scene, we are able to make this donation request without asking for funds for Tarrant County Blue to pay his next of kin, which is our mission.”
Donations may be made by check to Tarrant County Blue c/o Worthington National Bank, 500 Main Street, Fort Worth, Texas 76102. All donations are a tax-deductible contribution.
