Ellis County Equine Association is proud to announce Elizabeth Jane Terry, 17, of Waxahachie, is the recipient of the 2013 Nancy Jessup Memorial Scholarship. Liz has been an active member of ECEA and the ECEA Youth group for many years. Her love of horses brought her to the Flying Dollar Ranch in Italy in 2007 when she was just 12 years old and her mom and grandmother gave her riding lessons as a birthday present. Here she soon started working cleaning stalls and feeding horses in order to continue to receive riding and training lessons. She soon developed an interest in showing horses and began to participate in both ECEA and 4-H activities. She has served as ECEYA vice-president and twice as president. She has also been a member of the 4-H Silver Spurs judging team and has served as its vice-president and president. Liz plans to attend Tarleton State University where she will major in graphic design. ECEA is very pleased to be able to award her with the Nancy Jessop Scholarship to assist her in financing her college career.
