Dr. Thomas Harold Brayden Jr. was born Feb. 20, 1939 in Hammond, La. to Dorothy Brayden (preceded in death) and Thomas Harold Brayden (preceded in death). Thomas leaves his wife, Nelda; three sons, Thomas Harold Brayden III of Coppell, and Kenneth and Kelvin Stokes of Waxahachie; two brothers, Charles Brayden of San Antonio and Mark Brayden of Baton Rouge, La.; two sisters, Elaine Gautier of Mt. Pleasant, S.C. and Linda Haschak of Hammond, La.
Dr. Brayden taught chemistry for many years at both Cedar Valley College and Dallas Baptist University. He really enjoyed being part of the students’ lives. Dr. Brayden worked at LTV Aerospace for many years in quality control.
The family asked that instead of flowers monetary gifts be given in Dr. Thomas Brayden’s memory to Cedar Valley College’s Chemistry scholarship, Dallas Baptist University's Chemistry scholarships and First United Methodist Church of Waxahachie.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, July 25, 2013, at Laurel Land Funeral Home. Memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 26, 2013, at First United Methodist Church in Waxahachie. Interment to follow Laurel Land Memorial Park.
