hip Waxahachie program has involved individuals in the community who are interested in developing their leadership and management skills. Many graduates have gone on to serve in leadership positions in business and community service.

This year’s class is made up of people from every area of the city.

Participants include Kassandra Carroll, economic coordinator for the city of Waxahachie; Jaime Castro, executive assistant to the president of Magnablend; Melissa Chapman, Marketing and Public Relations Consultant; Randall Chase, membership director for the Waxahachie Chamber of Commerce; Faye Collins, director of emergency services at Baylor Medical Center; John Howe, assistant dean of student services and operations at Navarro College; Amy Nguyen, Ellis County District Attorney’s office; and Kim Owens, vice president at Vintage Bank. They all committed to spend a year dedicating themselves to make a difference in our community.

Each class is tasked to come up with a project that will use and stretch their skills and benefit the city. This year’s project is building a disc golf course, which will be located at Brown-Singleton and Belle-Vue parks in Waxahachie. The course will provide a fun recreational opportunity that is free and can be played at any age. The course will open in mid-August.

The Rotary Club of Waxahachie is proud to be able to support this worthy program with a $1,000 donation. The picture above shows Rotary president Mike Fenton presenting the check to three current Leadership Waxahachie participants while a few of the other Rotarians who have participated in the Leadership program watch.
