An Ellis County Grand Jury has indicted Ennis resident Rodney Jones, 39, on the charge of assault family violence by occlusion.

Members of the Ennis Police Department arrested Jones on Thursday, June 15.

According to the indictment, Jones allegedly intentionally, knowingly or recklessly caused bodily injury to the victim by impeding the normal breathing or circulation of the blood by applying pressure to the throat or neck of the victim.

Bond was set at $10,000 and he has since bonded out of the Wayne McCollum Detention Center.

The next court appearance for Jones has been scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 8.
