To the Editor,

Quoting from the Bible Genesis 1 verse 1 it says: “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” Genesis 2 verse 7 says: “Then the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life and the man became a human being.” Genesis 2 verse 15 says: The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it.” After God had created heaven, the earth and man, He gave the man a help-mate, woman.

Everything looks great up to now but in the process of all the great things God had done, he gave man and woman a free will. Now begins the downfall of God’s great creations. From that day until now people have been destroying God’s great creations.

In my humble opinion many years later He decided to allow America to become a nation. He has been with us all the way, but just as Adam and Eve, we have taken something God allowed and botched it up.

Again, in my humble opinion once we turned our backs on Him, He began to remove His hedge of protection from America. We fought the Civil War so all people could be free. We fought World War I because it appeared the Germans were thinking about taking over the world. We fought World War II for the same reason and because we were attacked by Japan. These two wars were fought in foreign lands to keep the attackers from coming to the continental United States. Then we decided to stick our noses into the business of the world. We sent our military forces, first to Korea — and this was not considered a war, but a police action. Then we got involved in the Vietnam conflict. Also not considered a war. Now we are so involved in other people’s business we have forgotten how to say, “have at it but do not include us.”

Now I’m sure you are asking where is this old man going? OK, in the wars beginning with Korea, we have lost so many of our military people and had so many of them handicapped for life, not able to enjoy a healthy life with friends and family. These wars have been foolish and unnecessary (no threat to America), again, in my humble opinion. We need to stay home, protect our land and be ready to defend it with all we have. If world war breaks out again, be ready.

Today is July 4, 2013. For the past 234 years America has been the home of the brave. I hope each of you enjoy it as much as I did.

I know what I have said is true because I have lived through all of this. May God bless each of you and America.
